Mark Zuckerberg selects On Immunity for the Facebook "Year of Books" Book Club!

We are delighted to share that Mark Zuckerberg has selected On Immunity: An Inoculation by Eula Biss as his next pick for the Facebook “Year of Books” challenge (more commonly known as the Facebook Book Club)! In a statement on his personal Facebook page, he wrote:

My next book for A Year of Books is On Immunity by Eula Biss.

Vaccination is an important and timely topic. The science is completely clear: vaccinations work and are important for the health of everyone in our community.

This book explores the reasons why some people question vaccines, and then logically explains why the doubts are unfounded and vaccines are in fact effective and safe.

This book was recommended to me by scientists and friends who work in public health. It’s also a relatively short book—one that you should be able to read in a few hours. I encourage you to check it out and to join the discussion.

On Immunity was published in the fall to wide acclaim, and went on to become a New York Times Best Seller, was named a top ten book of the year by the New York Times Book ReviewSlateEntertainment WeeklyPublishers Weekly and many other outlets, and is currently a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in criticism. Pick up a copy at your favorite local bookstore and join the conversation!
