David Rosenthal was well-known for his translations from the Catalan.  His translations include the 15th century classic Tirant lo Blanc and Modern Catalan Poetry: An Anthology, as well as Mercè Rodoreda's The Time of the Doves and My Christina & Other Stories.  He died in 1992.
