Hey everybody--We got a new computer a few months back here at Micawber's. And that's the good news--it has allowed us to do some things in the day to day runnings of the store that help all of us out. The downside, and it is a biggie, is that our old e-mail list got fried in the transfer of data. We've been trying to upload all of the old e-mails into the new computer but it just hasn't happened. We apologize for the trouble this has caused. If you were on the old e-mail update list, and would like to get monthly e-mails about new releases and events, please stop in or e-mail us with current contact info. We promise it will get going again soon

The second event in our Micawber's Chats series will be Thursday September 11th 2008.

3-21-08 Yesterday we kicked-off our new quarterly series of events where the booksellers of Micawber's each discuss three books they love. We hope this can become a long-running and varied group of chats. The next chat will take place in June.

Tom discussed: "The Assault" by Harry Mulisch, "Three Bags Full" by Leonie Swann and "The Price of Glory" by Alistair Horne.

Hans discussed: "We Are the Ship" by Kadir Nelson, "Finn" by Jon Clinch and "Up in the Old Hotel" by Joseph Mitchell.

Karen discussed: "Grendel" by John Gardner, "Saturday" by Ian McEwan and "Morality Play" by Barry Unsworth.

The other(younger) Tom discussed: "Travels With Charley" by John Steinbeck, "Deep Economy" by Bill McKibben and "Oracle Bones" by Peter Hessler.

Stop by anytime and we can fill you in about these books if you'd like. As time goes on we'll have an archive of all books discussed.
